IEC 60840 Cable
The IEC60840 cable standard specifies test methods and requirements for cable systems, single cables, accessories, and fixed installations with rated voltages above 30 kV (Um=36 kV) but not exceeding 150 kV (Um=170 kV). These requirements generally apply to single-core cables and individually shielded three-core cables and their accessories under installation and operating conditions. They do not apply to special cables, such as submarine power cables and their accessories, where modifications to the standard tests or special test conditions may be required.
