Where are LSZH cables used?

LSZH cables differ from cables made of PVC and other compounds in that their cable insulation is made of a special material best suited for public and high-grade places. When they catch fire, they produce large amounts of thick black smoke and toxic gases. However, because LSZH instrumentation cables are made of thermoplastic materials, they produce only small amounts of smoke and toxic gases and do not contain acid. It makes it easier for people to escape from a fire or hazardous area. For this reason, they are usually installed indoors, e.g. in public areas, dangerous other areas, or poorly ventilated environments.
