Differences Between Low Voltage Cables
Low-voltage cables are commonly categorized by three voltage levels, such as 300/500V, 450/750V, and 0.6/1kV. However, these differences extend beyond voltage. Cables of the same voltage may vary in insulation material and sheath, while cables of different voltages may also differ in structure and cross-section. Users should contact ZMS to purchase the appropriate cable based on their project requirements. ZMS can also provide high-quality cables tailored to specific product specifications.
Comparison Within The Same Voltage Level
Comparing Different Insulation Materials — for example, PVC insulation vs. XLPE insulation—can vary in temperature resistance, flexibility, price, and service life.
Single-Core vs. Multi-Core — Choose the appropriate one based on your needs. Different core counts can affect cable flexibility and installation methods, leading to price differences.
Shielded vs. Unshielded — Electromagnetic interference protection differs. ZMS generally recommends shielded or unshielded cable based on the application scenario.
Fixed Installation vs. Mobile Installation — Compare the structure, sheath abrasion resistance, and flexibility.
The Difference Between 450/750V & 300/500V Cable
450/750V Cable | – Rated at 450/750V, it can withstand higher operating voltages and is suitable for powering higher-power devices. – The conductor cross-sectional area range is wider, up to 1.5mm², 2.5mm², or even larger, to accommodate higher currents. – It is mostly used in high power applications such as industrial power distribution, building wiring, power supply for motors, and large electrical equipment. – The insulation thickness is greater, the mechanical strength and voltage resistance are higher, and the long-term operation is safer and more reliable. |
– The rated voltage is 300/500V, and it is mainly used for low-voltage signal transmission or connection of light electrical equipment. – Usually, the conductor cross-sectional area is small, mostly in specifications such as 0.5mm², 0.75mm², and 1mm². – Commonly used in light-load applications such as household appliances, lighting fixtures, and internal wiring of electronic equipment. – The insulation layer is thin, light, and flexible, making it suitable for wiring in small spaces. |
