ACCC/TW Conductor
ACCC/TW (Aluminum Conductor Composite Core / Trapezoidal Wire) is a next-generation HTLS (High Temperature Low Sag) overhead conductor, designed as an advanced replacement for traditional ACSR conductors.
It features a carbon fiber reinforced composite core combined with trapezoidal annealed aluminum strands, providing higher ampacity, lower sag, and reduced line losses compared to conventional conductors.
The conductor offers excellent mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and thermal performance, making it suitable for demanding environments.
Manufactured in accordance with ASTM B857, ASTM B609, and IEC 62708 standards, ACCC/TW conductors are widely used in transmission line upgrading, new line construction, long-span projects, and harsh environments such as coastal, high pollution, and heavy icing areas.
Structural & Technical Principles
Core Structural Components
1. Carbon Fiber Composite Core Rod: High tensile strength, low coefficient of linear expansion, high temperature resistance; bears the main mechanical tension of the conductor.
2. Outer Trapezoidal Aluminum Wire: 1350 series high-purity aluminum, annealed soft aluminum process, higher filler content, larger current carrying capacity, and lower loss.
3. Advantages of Composite Structure: No steel hysteresis loss, lightweight, small sag, and minimal conductor deformation under high temperature operation.
Core Working Principle
ACCC conductors can operate stably for extended periods at 180℃~200℃. Their coefficient of linear expansion is only 1/10 that of traditional steel-core conductors. They do not sag significantly under high temperature and heavy loads, allowing for a substantial increase in transmission capacity without modifying towers.
