Daehan Cable’s North American Orders Exceed $300 Million

Daehan Cable has accumulated $300 million in orders in North America with an additional $24 million order from the U.S. branch of Korean cable manufacturer Daehan Cable. This is the highest since the company entered the U.S. market at the beginning of the 21st century.

The order received by Daehan is for a 230kV extra-high voltage underground transmission line project connecting a large solar power plant in the eastern desert region of California, USA.

Nexans Receives Order for World’s Longest XLPE Submarine Cable


Nexans To Build The World’s Longest XLPE-Insulated Submarine Cable

Nexans has been awarded the contract for the Celtic submarine grid interconnection project, jointly developed by Ireland’s EirGrid and French transmission system operator RTE. The 700 MW project is the world’s longest XLPE submarine interconnection system and the first direct submarine connection between France and Ireland.

Recognized as a Common Interest Project (PCI) by the European Union, the project allows the exchange of electricity between Ireland and France, providing power to approximately 450,000 homes and is key to the development of an integrated European energy system.

Hong Kong – Singapore – Philippines – Hainan Province Submarine Cable System ALC Preparation

SingTel and five regional operators recently announced the signing of a US$300 million contract to build a 6,000-kilometer submarine cable system, the Asia Link Cable System (ALC), designed to connect Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, the Philippines, Brunei, and Hainan Province to support economic growth in Southeast Asia.

The enterprise alliance is co-led by SingTel and China Telecom Global Limited (CTG) and includes four other regional operators – China Telecom Group Corporation (CTC), Globe Telecom Corporation (Globe), and DITO Telecom Corporation (DITO) in the Philippines, and UNN in Brunei.

JDR Cable Systems, a global supplier and service provider of submarine cables, has said it has officially opened the construction of its state-of-the-art submarine cable manufacturing facility near Blyth, Northumberland, UK.

The new facility, reportedly covering 69,000 square meters and costing a total of approximately £130 million, will provide vital submarine cable manufacturing technology for the offshore wind power market. Currently, 171 local jobs will be provided during the construction phase of the project.

Germany To Reach 50 Gw Of Installed Offshore Wind Power

This new fiber optic submarine cable will land at Carcavelos and Sines, with branch paths built to connect Seixal and Sesimbra cable landings to the Setubal region.
